The Old Bakehouse

In the heart of Walsingham, The Old Bakehouse provides Bed and Breakfast accommodation in en suite rooms with super king-size beds, LCD DVD/TV systems and free Wi-Fi.

Breakfast is served in the dining room which was part of the old bakery. By day it is a traditional tea room serving homemade cakes and scones as well as light lunches and a range of speciality teas.

An important Christian pilgrimage site since 1061, Walsingham was restored in the 20th century with both Anglican and Catholic replica shrines. The atmospheric village of historical timber-framed buildings also features a museum.

North Norfolk’s stunning Heritage Coast can easily be explored with a light railway connecting Walsingham to the colourful town of Wells-next-the Sea, which boasts a bustling quayside, pine-fringed beaches, art galleries and independent stores.

The market towns of Fakenham, with its famed racecourse and the Pensthorpe nature Reserve, and Thursford, famed for the country’s largest Christmas spectacular, are both within five miles. The cathedral city of Norwich is a fifty-minute drive.
