Kings Head Holt
On the High Street with magnificent views of Holt’s historic Georgian architecture, The King’s Head provides Bed and Breakfast accommodation.
The three rooms sleep up to four people and feature antique furniture, exposed beams, sash windows and stripped wooden floorboards. Luxury touches include 6-ft beds, Egyptian cotton sheets, flatscreen TVs, roll-top baths and quality towels and toiletries. Two of the rooms are also offered on a self-catering basis, with fully equipped kitchens and a dining area.
Breakfast is served at the nearby award-winning bistro Byfords, which also offers accommodation and is a sister company of The Kings Head.
The open-kitchen STEAK restaurant specialises has an ethos of quality steak at reasonable prices. The pub, meanwhile, serves a selection of local ales in a new bar area, quiet lounge bar and large beer garden.
Holt is an attractive market town with numerous antique stores, galleries, boutiques and tea rooms occupying the colourful maze of side streets and alleyways. The nostalgic ‘Poppy Line’ steam railway runs through scenic countryside to the resort town of Sheringham.
The dramatically changing shoreline of the Heritage Coast – a designated area of outstanding beauty – is easily accessible, with nature reserves, charming villages, a seal colony at Blakeney Point and salt marshes all within five miles. The cathedral city of Norwich is a forty-minute drive.
