Mulberry Cottage

In a traditional flint cottage near Blakeney’s famous quayside and recommended in Alistair Sawday’s ‘Special Places to Stay,’ Mulberry Cottage provides splendid self-catering cottage accommodation.

The interior decorator owner has embellished the cottage with eclectic antiques and modern furnishings. An open-plan living room features a wood-burning stove, while the bedroom boasts an antique French bed, a chandelier and outstanding views.

Facilities include a fully fitted kitchen, iPod player, TV/DVD. Guests can also relax in the courtyard garden.

Blakeney, a charming village of cobbled cottages in narrow streets, was once one of England’s largest ports before silting up and becoming navigable only to small vessels. Among these are the pleasure boats to Blakeney Point, a National Trust nature reserve, home to the famous basking seals and a bird sanctuary.

The dramatically changing Heritage Coast with its timeless villages and unspoilt beaches can easily be explored by road or the Norfolk Coast Path. The Georgian market town of Holt is a short journey, while the cathedral city of Norwich is a fifty-minute drive.
