Mill Common House

Recommended in Alistair Sawday’s ‘Special Places to Stay’, Mill Common House provides charming Bed and Breakfast accommodation. Surrounded by mature gardens, the original brick and flint buildings of this farmhouse date back more than two hundred years.

The two rooms are stylishly decorated and offer splendid rural views, while communal areas include the well-furnished sitting and dining rooms.

The breakfast, often served in the palatial conservatory with open log fire, is farmhouse-style and cooked on the Aga, with Norfolk rare breed bacon and sausage, vine ripened tomatoes (in season) and local free range eggs on offer. Evening meals can also be arranged.

Ridlington is surrounded by countryside walks, with East Ruston Old Vicarage Gardens being a local attraction. The beautiful sandy beaches of the Norfolk coast are nearby, including Bacton where seals can often be seen frolicking in the waves. Inland the bustling market town of North Walsham with its good range of shops and eateries is a short distance.

The Norfolk Broads, with their miles of unspoilt waterways, nature reserves and wetlands, are in the vicinity. The historic cathedral city of Norwich is a forty-minute drive.
