The Abbey Hotel, Norwich

The Abbey Hotel, recommended in the Lonely Planet guide, is a Victorian terraced house restored to retain its period features; three star comfort is provided in warm comfortable rooms, some en suite, in an excellent central location close to the railway station and a fifteen minute walk into the historic centre.

Once described as having a pub for every day of the year and a church for every Sunday, Norwich still has both in abundance and plenty more besides. The city has a magnificent Norman cathedral and castle, and is one of the top ten UK shopping destinations.

There are two shopping malls, winding back streets with individual boutiques and a celebrated open air market right in the centre. Overlooking the market is the architecturally stunning Forum which houses a state-of-the-art coffee shop, pizza restaurant and tourist information.

The Norfolk Broads and the unspoilt countryside dotted with bustling market towns are on the doorstep. This is also a great base for visiting the stunning Norfolk coastline with miles of sandy beaches, traditional seaside resorts and nature reserves.
