Lynford Hall Country House Hotel

This grand country house hotel has a fascinating history. It has offered hospitality to a wide range of luminaries, from royal visitors to the writer Ernest Hemingway.

In the present day it offers Bed and Breakfast accommodation in grand style, with a fine dinner and afternoon tea also available. Rooms are luxuriously decorated with period features intact, there are canopied beds, free-standing baths and beams. In the Hall itself there are nine splendid mansion suites.

The restaurant serves an innovative à la carte menu, with organic options for food and wine available. For less formal dining, and an extensive range of ales and wines, there is the Wellingtonia, a cosy bar with log fire.

Fittingly for an establishment once known as one of the finest sporting estates in East Anglia, there are a variety of rural pursuits on offer within Lynford Hall’s extensive grounds, including golf, horse riding, clay pigeon shooting, fishing and bird watching.

A little further afield, Thetford Forest is the largest lowland pine forest in the country and is ideal for walking and cycling. More urban activities are available a short drive away in the historic city of Norwich, where fine shopping, cultural attractions and modern cafés and bars can be found within the stunning medieval streets.
