Ffolkes Arms Hotel

This fine Grade II listed hotel, once part of the 8000 acre Hillington estate, was built more than three hundred years ago and the family coat-of-arms on the sign above the imposing front entrance marks the historic connection with the Ffolkes family. The hotel has a long and colourful history as a coaching inn.

The accommodation wing is in a restored stable block and the smart rooms are traditionally furnished and comfortably equipped, one converted for disabled use.

The Wellington Restaurant overlooks the arched walls and fountain of the landscaped garden and specialises in hearty food with locally sourced vegetables from the hotel’s own nursery. Two bars, one with a roaring log fire, serve a wide selection of wines, beers and ales.

Hillington is a peaceful village, a short drive away from the ancient port of King’s Lynn for a fascinating collection of historic buildings, streets and courtyards, and the surrounding area has many attractions close by.

The Queen’s Norfolk retreat is at Sandringham, and there are stately homes at Houghton and Holkham. The North Norfolk Coast, with its pretty seaside villages and superb sandy beaches is a short drive away.

The cathedral city of Norwich, lies an hour’s drive to the east, with a wealth of architectural gems, both traditional and modern.
