Hideaway House

On a quiet street but just yards from the bustling quayside area and Staithe Street, Hideaway House provides Gold Award five-star self-catering accommodation decorated with a contemporary seaside theme.

A spacious sitting room is furnished with reclining sofas and all mod cons, while French doors open from the dining room on to the south-facing courtyard garden with a parasol. Young families are well catered for with a high chair, cot and stair gates provided.

Facilities include a wood-burning stove, reclining sofas, TV with freeview, DVD player, CD/MP3 player, toiletries from the National Soap Company and many other luxury cottages.

Wells-next-the-Sea is a handsome mix of Georgian and Victorian architecture with an array of independent shops and art galleries clustered around Staithe Street. A miniature steam train connects the quayside, where ‘gillying’ for crabs is a popular pastime to a sandy beach fringed with colourful huts and pine trees and offering more adventurous water activities.

The dramatically changing Heritage Coast, with its nature reserves and charming villages, can easily be explored via road or the Norfolk Coast Path. The magnificent Holkham Hall, boasting a beach voted Britain’s finest by Coast Magazine is nearby. The cathedral city of Norwich is a one-hour drive.
