Holly Lodge

An 18th century farmhouse, with parts of the building dating back to the 13th century, Holly Lodge provides Gold Award five-star Bed and Breakfast accommodation and was awarded Best Bed and Breakfast 2005 in the Enjoy England Excellence awards.

Several original features have been retained, including flagstone floors and beams. Accommodation is within specially designed cottages in the former stables, with each room following a distinctive design theme and influence: New England, Far Eastern and medieval romantic. Complimentary wine, fruit and home-made cake await guests.

The conservatory is a comfortable communal area with newspapers and maps. Breakfast is served in the atmospheric main house and uses locally produced ingredients. Nestled behind a fruit orchard, Holly Lodge lies in a bucolic setting, with an acre of landscaped gardens.

Thursford is famed for the pageantry of its Christmas Spectacular, the country’s most popular Christmas show. The medieval Catholic pilgrimage shrine of Walsingham is another local attraction nearby, and indeed pilgrims once stayed in Holly Lodge’s converted stables.

North Norfolk’s Heritage Coast, an area of outstanding natural beauty with unspoilt beaches and nature reserves, is within five miles. The historic city of Norwich is a fifty-minute drive.
