Rookery Farm
On a working arable farm producing malting barley, wheat, potatoes, sugar beet and daffodils in the spring, Rookery Farm provides Gold Award self-catering cottage accommodation. The barns can also be rented long-term (long lets only November-March) and for large group bookings. Another barn, the Bolt Hole, is available nearby.
Four flint barns sit around a courtyard with private patios, lawns and herb gardens. All are fitted with modern amenities, and cots, fire guards and stair gates can be provided for families. Tea, cakes and a complimentary welcome pack of homemade and local produce await guests upon arrival.
The village of West Beckham is part of a network of conservation walks and permissive footpaths. A hike to the coast and the traditional resort town of Sheringham is even possible through the landscaped gardens of the National Trust Sheringham Park with its fabulous coastal views.
The Heritage Coast, a designated area of outstanding natural beauty, commences from nearby Weybourne and offers unspoilt beaches, charming villages, fresh seafood and numerous nature reserves.
Four miles inland is the Georgian market town of Holt with its range of antique stores, galleries, boutiques and tea rooms occupying the colourful maze of side streets. The cathedral city of Norwich is a forty-minute drive.
