Yaxham Mill

Yaxham Mill was built in 1860 for the owner William Critoph. At a height of forty-eight feet with six storeys and four double-shuttered sails, the mill tower was a spectacular sight.

The current complex was completely renovated and the derelict mill and forge, bakery and stables have been transformed into self-catering cottages, six en suite double bed and breakfast rooms in two wings and an attractive bar and restaurant. The bedrooms have every comfort and many thoughtful extras for a relaxing stay.

Nearby Dereham is a thriving West Norfolk market town, situated a short drive from the historic city of Norwich, with its fine cathedral and castle, great shopping, dining and entertainments.

For more rural pursuits, the celebrated Norfolk Broads are easily accessible, with miles of unspoilt waterways, nature reserves and opportunities for boating and fishing.

The scenic North Norfolk coast is also under an hour’s drive for superb sandy beaches, RSPB reserves and unspoilt coastal villages and resorts.
