The Swan Hotel
The centuries old Swan Hotel, set in the heart of the picturesque market town of Harleston, retains many fine period features from its long history as one of the main inns in the area, featuring sixteenth century beams, huge inglenook fireplaces and an arched courtyard. The fine Queen Anne façade dates from the eighteenth century.
The hotel has a popular bar and restaurant, and the recently renovated accommodation includes a room with a four poster bed and a luxury honeymoon suite.
Harleston is an historic town with fine Victorian and Georgian buildings, intriguing shops and a weekly market, set in the lovely Waveney valley on the Norfolk/Suffolk border.
It lies a short drive away from Norwich, an enchanting cathedral city with some of the finest medieval architecture in Britain and renowned for its great shopping and a cultural scene of first-class museums, galleries and theatres.
To the east lie the Norfolk Broads, a unique patchwork of navigable waterways, woodland, marsh and wide open skies; the sandy beaches and unspoilt coastal towns and villages of North Suffolk are under an hour’s drive.
