The Old Windmill, Aylsham

Built in 1829 and a working flour mill for over one hundred years, The Old Windmill provides unique Gold Award five-star self-catering accommodation spread over four floors for up to six people.

The luxuriously decorated rooms are fitted with many modern amenities, including freeview TVs and DVD players. An open-plan living area features a fitted kitchen, guests are greeted with a welcome pack, and a private walled garden features a patio, garden furniture and a gas barbecue.

Aylsham is an attractive market town and a founding member of Cittaslow, an international slow town movement. The town is renowned for antiques and collectibles, especially in the popular Monday auctions. The Bure Valley Railway, a nine-mile steam train service to Wroxham, the ‘capital’ of the magnificent Norfolk Broads, is a local attraction.

The Marriott’s Way cycle trail is just a few yards from The Old Windmill, while the National Trust Blickling Hall, one of England’s great Jacobean houses, is within a mile. The fine 17th century National Trust Felbrigg Hall is also nearby.

The Blue Flag traditional resort of Cromer and the stunning North Norfolk Coast, a designated area of outstanding natural beauty, are a short journey. The cathedral city of Norwich and its many cultural delights is a twenty-minute drive.
