Stable Cottage, East Runton

Recommended in Alistair Sawday’s ‘Special Places to Stay’ and 2009 winner of Best Self-Catering Holiday in the Regional Enjoy England Awards, Stable Cottage, under the same ownership as Incleborough House and The Brambles, provides Gold Award five-star cottage accommodation.

The cottage features three sumptuous bedrooms, oak floors, Tilevision TVs in the en suites, and a 42-inch plasma TV in the lounge.

A Grade II-listed flint wall encloses the south facing mature garden, which features a hot tub, gas barbeque and a Children’s Den Room with games. A luxury welcome pack includes wine, local sausages and home-made bread and cakes.

East Runton is a flint stone fishing village with a tranquil beach and fabulous coastal walks. The Blue Flag resort towns of Sheringham, with its nostalgic ‘Poppy Line’ steam railway and National Trust Park, and Cromer, boasting a traditional pier and colourful promenade, are within two miles. The elegant National Trust Felbrigg Hall is also nearby.

Beyond Sheringham in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty is the North Norfolk Heritage Coast, a dramatic shoreline of unspoilt beaches, marshes, nature reserves and charming villages which can be hiked via the Norfolk Coast Path. The cathedral city of Norwich is a forty-minute drive.
