Bagthorpe Hall
This large country house offers Bed and Breakfast stays with a touch of grandeur. The place is soaked in heritage and country living: from the mural in the hall chronicling 150 years of family history, to the family’s organic farm produce which is served at the delicious breakfast which includes fruit from the garden in season.
Rooms are furnished in a traditional style, with rich colours, antique-style furniture and large windows looking out over acres of parkland and ancient woodland; there is a snowdrop walk in February.
Bagthorpe is close to the HM The Queen’s Norfolk retreat at Sandringham. The historic port town of King’s Lynn with its famous market squares and merchants’ houses lies beyond Sandringham.
Heading north the bustling village of Burnham Market is within a few miles and boasts a celebrated range of independent stores clustered around the attractive green. After Burnham Market is the beautiful North Norfolk Heritage Coast, featuring salt marshes between Brancaster and Burnham Overy Staithe and the famous beach at Holkham Bay.
