The Two Lifeboats

Originally a coffee shop and fisherman’s mission around 1720 and named after the Augusta and Duncan lifeboats that rescued a crew of eight from a Norwegian brig in 1882, the Two Lifeboats is a history-steeped, family-friendly seaside public house providing accommodation.

All six rooms have sea views from a location yards from Sheringham’s beach. Refitted to a high standard, accommodation is provided in one single, one twin and four double rooms.

Describing itself as “a traditional pub with waves of history”, the Two Lifeboats offers seasonal dining, pub classics, light lunch options and a coffee menu.

Sheringham is a charming resort with a renowned Blue Flag-winning sandy beach and a fabulous links golf course. The nostalgic ‘Poppy Line’ Steam Railway runs to the Georgian market town of Holt with its boutiques, galleries and tea rooms. The National Trust Sheringham Park boasts wonderful walks and views in its rhododendron-lined, landscaped parks and gardens.

The Norfolk Coast Path connects Sheringham with the nature reserves, picturesque villages and unspoilt beaches of the Heritage Coast. National Trust Felbrigg Hall, a magnificent 17th Century Jacobean country house is a nearby attraction. The fine cathedral city of Norwich is a forty-minute drive.
