Lodge Farm

Lodge Farm is tucked away in tranquil seclusion surrounded by undulating countryside with marvellous views. The farmhouse was built in the 1840’s as a farm and hunting lodge and retains its period features in what is now a welcoming family home.

The accommodation has all the contemporary comforts in a range of rooms with private or en suite bathrooms. Children can be accommodated in the family room and horse riders, campers, cyclists and pets are all welcome. A special farm breakfast is provided from locally sourced ingredients and free-range eggs from the farm.

Castle Acre is a picturesque village steeped in history, having not only the remains of a large Norman Castle and Bailey Gate, but also one of the best-preserved priories in the country, dating back to 1090.

The village is an excellent base for walkers: the famous Peddars Way skirts the village and meets the Norfolk Coast Path at Holme-next-the-sea on the North Norfolk coast. The nearby Georgian market town of Fakenham has one of the country’s finest National Hunt racecourses.

The pristine sandy beaches, wildlife reserves and quaint coastal resorts of the North Norfolk Heritage Coast can be easily explored from Castle Acre, and the great houses of Sandringham, Oxburgh and Houghton and are all under twenty miles away. The cathedral city of Norwich is a fifty-minute drive for historical treasures and great shopping and dining.
