Manor Farm, Sculthorpe

Manor Farm is set in the 550 acres of the working farm, much of which is woodland, and the owners have provided signposted walks: enjoy rural tranquility, ponds and abundant wildlife. Bowling and fishing are also activities on the farm.

The three spacious rooms are individually furnished in traditional country style with every modern comfort; each has an en suite or private bath or shower room, with one boasting a whirlpool bath. Books for bedtime reading are a thoughtful extra.

The owners take pride in their delicious farm breakfast, which includes free range hen or duck eggs from the farmyard and is served in the large conservatory, or in the garden on sunny days.

The village of Sculthorpe is just three miles from the market town of Fakenham, dominated by its 115-ft church tower and known for the popular National Hunt Racecourse, one of the finest in the country. A few miles from the town, the Pensthorpe Nature Reserve is home to the BBC’s Springwatch programme and over 100 species of birds.

Some of the many other local attractions include the medieval pilgrimage site of Walsingham, Thursford, famed for its spectacular Christmas show, the Royal Sandringham Estate and Holkham Hall.

The North Norfolk Heritage Coast is easily accessible. This area of outstanding natural beauty is much loved by birdwatchers and walkers for its long sandy beaches, nature reserves, quaint fishing villages and seaside resorts. Further afield to the south, the cathedral city of Norwich is a fifty-minute drive.
