Robin Hood Cottage

Robin Hood Cottage provides stylish Bed and Breakfast accommodation in a former inn dating back to the 1720s. The Willow Room boasts oak-beamed ceilings and sash windows, while The Oak Room features vaulted ceilings and original cross beams. Self-catering accommodation is also offered in the Stable Cottage, a former pub stable.

Amenities include LCD TVs with freesat, a DVD library, wi-fi access and complimentary toiletries, while touches such as home-made cake on arrival add to the sense of pampering.

Breakfast is served in the farmhouse-style kitchen or, on finer days, the Mediterranean courtyard garden with a pond and fruit trees makes a fabulous setting for an al fresco first meal of the day. Produce is sourced from the highly regarded Walsingham Farm Shop.

An important Christian pilgrimage site since 1061, Walsingham was restored in the 20th century with both Anglican and Catholic replica shrines. The atmospheric village of historical timber-framed buildings also features a museum.

North Norfolk’s stunning Heritage Coast can easily be explored, with a splendid light railway connecting Walsingham to the colourful town of Wells-next-the Sea, which boasts a bustling quayside, pine-fringed beaches, art galleries and independent stores.

The market towns of Fakenham and Thursford, famed for the country’s largest Christmas spectacular, are both within five miles; the cathedral city of Norwich is a fifty-minute drive.
