The Berney Arms

This special village inn has welcoming bars warmed by open fires and a restaurant renowned for its fine local cuisine with global influences.

The old stables, carriage house and blacksmith’s forge of the inn have been skilfully renovated to retain period features and provide five new rooms and a suite with attractive furniture and bathrooms and many features for comfort. Each has its own private terrace.

The inn is set in the peaceful hamlet of Barton Bendish, within easy reach of many of Norfolk’s attractions. The market towns of Swaffham and Downham Market are just seven miles away and the moated fifteenth century manor house Oxburgh Hall is even closer. Just ten miles to the north, the medieval port of King’s Lynn has two historic market places, a number of merchant’s houses and a range of museums.

The Blue Flag seaside resort of Hunstanton is just under an hour’s drive with the stunning North Norfolk Heritage Coast easily accessible beyond for sandy beaches, nature reserves and quaint coastal villages.

The fine city of Norwich is an hour’s drive also; Britain’s most complete medieval city has a wealth of architectural gems, both traditional and modern.
