The Black Boys Hotel
In a Grade II-listed building dating back to 1471, The Black Boys provides stylish hotel accommodation. An inn since 1610, famous former patrons include Princess Victoria, Horatio Nelson and Daniel Defoe.
The traditional ambience is maintained inside a bar that serves a range of local ales, while the restaurant is renowned for its imaginative seasonal menu. Rooms are individually and stylishly decorated in a classical style with king-size beds and other comforts; a family suite with a cosy lounge is also available, as well as a range of breakfast options.
Aylsham is an attractive market town and a founding member of Cittaslow – an international slow town movement – as well as being famed for antiques and collectibles. The magnificent National Trust Blickling Hall, one of England’s great Jacobean houses, is within a short walk.
The Bure Valley Railway, a nine-mile steam train service to Wroxham, the capital of the magnificent Norfolk Broads, is another popular local attraction.
The stunning North Norfolk Coast, a designated area of outstanding natural beauty, is just a few miles away, while the cathedral city of Norwich and its many cultural delights is a twenty-minute drive.
