Melbourne House

On an eight acre estate of pasture, gardens and woodland, Melbourne House provides Bed and Breakfast accommodation in a Grade II listed Georgian house. A period atmosphere is retained inside with features including panelled doors and sash windows, while the stylish rooms are also equipped with modern luxury. A farmers & craft market is held in the grounds every Sunday. The owners also have seaside accommodation available in picturesque Heacham nearby, in Ketra Caravan.

North Walsham became wealthy from the Flemish weaving industry, a prosperity which produced one of the UK’s largest parish churches. Its ruined tower is a landmark in a bustling town of side streets and yards with a range of shops, pubs and cafes.

Nearby Bacton Woods offers marked hiking trails in 280 acres of ancient woodland. Coastal villages Bacton, where seals can often be seen, and Mundesley, with Blue Flag-winning beaches, are within six miles.

The magnificent Norfolk Broads begin only a few miles south, while the North Norfolk Heritage Coast, a designated area of outstanding natural beauty, is a short trip north. The cathedral city of Norwich is a forty minute drive.
