Rose Cottage

Rose Cottage has recently been carefully extended by the owners and now one beautiful beamed room with double aspect windows is available. Traditional yew furniture, thick carpets and hand-made curtains together with thoughtful extras make this a rural retreat with a difference.

The locally sourced breakfasts – served in the conservatory – are Aga–cooked and the owner can also provide afternoon teas, evening meals and packed lunches.

This family home is situated on a quiet country lane, near the border between Norfolk and Suffolk, overlooking the picturesque Waveney Valley – a favourite subject for landscape painter Sir Alfred Munnings. South Norfolk’s varied landscape encompasses river valleys woodland, forest and grazing meadows all dotted with stunning churches – some round-towered – and criss-crossed with footpaths for walkers.

Nearby also, the thriving market town of Bungay, situated in a loop of the beautiful River Waveney, has many individual specialist and antiques shops, and particularly fine restaurants, cafés and coffee shops.

The award-winning Suffolk coastline, with the celebrated resorts of Lowestoft and Southwold, sandy beaches and quaint coastal villages, is only forty minutes away. It is also just a half-hour drive to the cathedral city of Norwich, which offers an enchanting mix of medieval treasures and great shopping and dining.
